A Practical Introduction To Hardware/software Codesign
This textbook serves as an introduction to the subject of embedded systems design, with emphasis on integration of custom hardware components with software. The key problem addressed in the book is the following: how can an embedded systems designer strike a balance between flexibility and efficiency? The book describes how combining hardware design with software design leads to a solution to this important computer engineering problem. The book covers four topics in hardware/software codesign: fundamentals, the design space of custom architectures, the hardware/software interface and application examples. The book comes with an associated design environment that helps the reader to perform experiments in hardware/software codesign. Each chapter also includes exercises and further reading suggestions. Improvements in this second edition include labs and examples using modern FPGA environments from Xilinx and Altera, which will make the material in this book applicable to a greater number of courses where these tools are already in use. More examples and exercises have been added throughout the book.
"If I were teaching a course on this subject, I would use this as a resource and text. If I were a student who wanted to learn codesign, I would look for a course that at least used a similar approach. If I were an engineer or engineering manager who wanted to learn more about codesign from a very practical perspective, I would read this book first before any other. When I first started learning about codesign as a practitioner, a book like this would have been the perfect introduction." --Grant Martin, Tensilica--
This updated and reorganized fourth edition of Software Testing: A Craftsman's Approach applies the strong mathematics content of previous editions to a coherent treatment of Model-Based Testing for both code-based (structural) and specification-based (functional) testing. These techniques are extended from the usual unit testing discussions to full coverage of less understood levels integration and system testing.
The Fourth Edition:
- Emphasizes technical inspections and is supplemented by an appendix with a full package of documents required for a sample Use Case technical inspection
- Introduces an innovative approach that merges the Event-Driven Petri Nets from the earlier editions with the "Swim Lane" concept from the Unified Modeling Language (UML) that permits model-based testing for four levels of interaction among constituents in a System of Systems
- Introduces model-based development and provides an explanation of how to conduct testing within model-based development environments
- Presents a new section on methods for testing software in an Agile programming environment
- Explores test-driven development, reexamines all-pairs testing, and explains the four contexts of software testing
Thoroughly revised and updated, Software Testing: A Craftsman's Approach, Fourth Edition is sure to become a standard reference for those who need to stay up to date with evolving technologies in software testing. Carrying on the tradition of previous editions, it will continue to serve as a valuable reference for software testers, developers, and engineers.
Insiders Choice Cfa 2015 Level I Certification A Complete Course Of Study For Chartered Financial Analyst (with Practice Exam Software)
InsidersChoice to 2015 CFA Level 1 Concise, Numbered Outline Helps Winnow the Tangential from What's Essential to Pass 2015 CFA Level 1 Exam! "INCLUDES! FREE TEST ENGINE SOFTWARE" This concise, practical guide gives you access to the "personal study notes" of a charter holder who passed all three levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst exams on his first attempt.
Sam Gottlieb - former New York tax attorney and Merrill Lynch wealth management advisor and now a CFA exam instructor -- shares his strategies, insider insights, and tips to help you pass the 2015 Level I Exam your first time.
He saves you time by cutting through the almost overwhelming, multi-volume CFA curriculum to help you separate information that's tangential from what's essential to pass the exam: Distills only the critical concepts for each Study Session and Learning Outcome Statement (LOS) into an easy-to-follow, boxed and numbered study outline.
Uses Examples to show you how to apply the principles from each LOS.
Clearly explains how to execute and interpret all relevant equations.
Sam discovered that other study guides cover the same ground, offering less material than the CFA Institute, but still give more than you really need to know. Use this one volume as a pre-study guide to prepare you to read the CFA curriculum materials -- and as a review aid to ensure that you've mastered critical information most likely to appear on the exam.
FREE DOWNLOAD of the FinancialExams test engine draws from a database of 1,000+ unique questions and 2,100 financial terms to generate an unlimited number of randomized mock exams.Correct answers are conveniently linked to relevant chapters in an eBook version of this manual so you can read the context for each answer. Use the software to first identify your strengths and weaknesses to determine where best to allocate your limited study time.
